Nemesis · Founder of Burghausen
Elias von Eisenwald
Codex Entry
Elias von Eisenwald was born in Bavaria in 1833.
He was 23 years old when the mutation changed him.
He became one of the rare Sentients whose mutation did not take away his mind.
Forced to declare his condition as a disease, he wore a mask to conceal the disfigured half of his face.
With the support of his parents and the wealth of his family, he decided to become a judging weapon against evil.
He operated secretly beneath the city and soon became known as Nemesis.
Before long, he realized that he had changed not only outwardly, but biologically as well. Alongside increased physical strength, speed, endurance, and heightened senses, his body seemed incapable of aging.
In 1861, at the funeral of his parents — the only people who knew his secret — he was forced to attend wearing a mask that covered his entire face, because he still appeared unnaturally young.
Soon afterward, a Japanese samurai approached him and offered him passage to Numinous, explaining that the Mind wished to repair the damage the radiation had caused him.
It was then that the aristocrat learned he was not alone.
There were others like him.
He refused the offer.
Instead, he proposed that he act on behalf of the City on Earth.
The proposal was accepted.
As a result, he purchased the Burghausen castle complex and established a hub where mutants like himself could find a home — a place where they would no longer need to hide, but instead become proud and inseparable members of society.
