Burghausen

Burghausen is the home of the Sentients, founded by Elias von Eisenwald.

The Burghausen Initiative represents an agreement between the German government and several other nations not to harm mutants, including both Sentients and Ferals. Any information regarding mutant activity must be forwarded to the Burghausen administration so that the mutant may be treated and cured if possible.

A cured Feral is thereafter referred to as a Sentient. The fate of mutants whose minds cannot be restored remains unknown — Burghausen claims full responsibility for them and assures the public that they will no longer pose a threat to civilians.

In return, Burghausen serves as a source of hope for humanity, assisting people in situations where conventional military forces are powerless. It also functions as a secret Numinous embassy: Elizabeth and Ethan share technologies originating from the City with Burghausen, allowing it to maintain its role as an essential and vital institution for the well-being of humanity.

As a result, Burghausen and its Sentients are regarded with admiration, respect, and affection by ordinary people.
