Origin Story

Long before humanity, in a universe nearing its end, a species evolved beneath an empty sky. Their universe was contracting. Distant stars had vanished, leaving only a local sun and its planets. That species survived through a shared sense. Extreme fear or suffering registered across all of them, letting them locate anyone in danger. That bond built their civilization, except one which they letter named the eldetst was born without it. He hid his silence, longing for connection. He sought a biological cure, found immortality instead, and became celebrated, yet still separate. Seeking deeper answers, he discovered the truth. Their universe was collapsing. His people refused digital escape, so they built a colossal city at the center of the universe, harvesting anti-entropic energy to hold collapse at bay. It worked, but leaked away. So they anchored a hub in a wormhole to siphon energy from a younger universe, ours. The transfer leaked radiation, seeding mutations across biology. To manage the damage and protect the flow, their AI, S.U.N, creates sentries in our universe.
