Fusion

Fusion is the complete transformation of a candidate's biology into a new post-human organism.

A Sentry is neither flesh nor the substances used during Fusion. The process creates something entirely new: a biological structure in which the original organism and selected substances have been fused at the fundamental level.

Fusion is made possible by anti-entropic energy, which acts as the binding medium between otherwise incompatible biological and non-biological structures.

S.U.N. precalculates the process before Fusion begins. It selects the substances, determines how they will integrate with the candidate's biology, and conducts the transformation. Substance selection is influenced not only by the candidate's physical requirements, but also by their psychology.

Once Fusion is complete, anti-entropic energy permanently stabilizes the resulting biological state. The new structure becomes effectively locked.

DNA can no longer be meaningfully rewritten, and the fused biology cannot be fundamentally altered, replaced, or transformed through conventional means. The Sentry is no longer transitioning between flesh and substance. Fusion has created a new stable state that resists further biological rewriting.

Basic Sentry Traits

Although the exact results vary between individuals, Fusion normally grants four fundamental capabilities:

- Superhuman strength - Superhuman durability - Superhuman speed - Internal energy generation

The degree of each trait depends on the individual Fusion.

Traumatic Manifestation Trait

Sometimes the candidate's trauma and psychology manifest physically during Fusion.

When this occurs, the resulting ability is called a Traumatic Manifestation Trait (TMT).

Unlike the basic traits of a Sentry, a TMT is intensely individual. It reflects something deeply embedded within the candidate's psyche and often becomes the most powerful or defining ability they possess.

Invariant — Damage progressively loses effectiveness against him until it falls beneath a threshold at which it can barely harm him at all.

Xeid — His body evaluates surrounding threats and automatically adjusts itself to place him above them.

Achilles — While maintaining absolute focus, his body becomes effectively indestructible.

Nox — Can become completely invisible.

Fusion therefore does more than rebuild the body.

Substances determine what the new organism is made from. Anti-entropic energy makes that organism permanent. And, in exceptional cases, the psyche determines what it can become.
