Xeno Energy

The energy often referred to by scientists as Xeno Energy, The Leak, or Negative Entropy Radiation enters the universe through the same mechanism by which Numinous steals dark matter. The accumulated energy leaks outward and flows into our universe through the only path by which escape is possible.

However, upon entering our world, it loses its pure anti-entropic properties, though it still retains a small portion of them. The probability of negative entropy manifestations is far lower here than within Numinous itself. Over centuries, the radiation disperses and fades. Yet because the influx is continuous, it gradually spreads across larger regions of the universe.

Some scientists — among them Elizabeth Smith — claim that both the likelihood and the outcome of mutation depend on how long an organism has remained exposed to the radiation. Most commonly, the damage manifests as cancer or does not visibly manifest at all.

In rare cases, however, the DNA mutates. The trigger is usually extreme stress, clinical death, or catastrophic trauma. The most common and widespread form of mutation is known as Wild Mutation (Feral). In rarer cases, the mutant retains full or partial consciousness. Such mutants are referred to as Sentients.

Mutation can occur to any life form. In rare cases, because of the anti-entropic nature of the radiation, mutation appears to interfere with biological aging, resulting in unusually extended lifespans.

When mutation starts, it progresses and expands to the point of collapse. But anti entropy radiated dna halts at the point of destruction.

Practical observation has shown that mutants who preserve even a fragment of their mind are capable of eventually restoring it completely. However, reversal of the mutation itself has not yet been achieved.
